An App Review.

To start off, these are just my opinions. I just happen to use a lot of apps and programs in my "line of work" and wanted to share a little. And I think that a photography blog should be more than just a "showcase" of work. There is real life behind each photograph, and a real photographer (with a real life) behind that camera.

I recently became an iPhone owner. It's not surprising, seeing as I've had two different iPods, a macbook, and iMac, and an iPad. I'm an Apple fanatic, sort of by accident, but let's face it...my last name is McIntosh (just ignore the spelling ;) )

I love when a phone has a decent camera. Sometimes I'm out and about, and I don't have my "fancy" camera, or my point and shoot has a dead battery (happens to me all the time). And nowadays, you can shoot, edit and post photos right from your phone. Here are a couple of the apps I use when this is my photography method of choice.

Instagram

It's super popular. And super simple to use. and makes it even simpler to stalk some of your friends (just kidding). But I do have a few friends that update a lot... so it's nice to keep up.

If you follow me, most of the photos in this post are going to be familiar, but in case you are new here, I'll post a few examples

PhotoEditor- A free little editing app, that I use occasionally with Instagram, and with:

Pic Stitch- A photo collage maker that works well with Instagram, Facebook, and much more.

So that's my mini app review. What apps do you use when using your phone as your photographic choice?

Sometimes there are just not enough hours in a day!

My last post promised more vacation photos (and a few more Maclin photos) over on the Life page, but I never got around to posting them. Sorry for the delay, but everything is up now! And check back this after this weekend for a post full of photos and fun from (hopefully) sunny Orlando! Ikea here we come!

Baby Maclin has Arrived!

Monday, July 9th, my first little great nephew was born! Weighing in at 9lbs, 5oz, he was a big boy!

Sample Birth Announcement

I didn't get to do a newborn shoot with little Maclin; my vacation time to visit the new family in Des Moines, Iowa was just not long enough. But I got to spend a few days hanging out with new mommy Lacy and baby Maclin, as well as visit with my grandparents, other family members, and my best friend of all time.

Check out the Portraits section for a couple more shots of baby Maclin!

Also, Check out the Life page for a few other vacation photos!

Finally, check out the Etsy Shop, where you can find a listing for Custom Birth Announcements!

New Content Added!

Good Morning!

Some of the tabs above actually have content to them! Over the next few days/weeks I'll be adding a lot more, but until then, check out what is there and keep checking back!

Check out the About Me section for a little bit of info about moi!

The Weddings Section covers the Connell/ Keech wedding, and you can see a glimpse into my Jamaican vacation (which happened over my 26th birthday...so Happy Birthday to me!)

On Location has a little taste of Tallahassee.

Also check out Facebook, Pinterest, and Instagram!

Welcome

THANK YOU so much for taking a second to check out my new blog. It’s still under heavy construction, but I hope to have some past photography projects (and the stories behind them) up for your viewing pleasure soon!

As many of you may know, I have been taking photos for as long as I can remember. It’s always been a favorite hobby of mine, and it’s my dream (or one of them) to be able to do it full time. I love spending time behind my camera (and if you know me well, I don’t really spend much time in front of it
J ) and seeing the world in a whole different way.

So please check back often, as new projects will be added as often as possible, and if nothing else, you’ll have some interesting reading/viewing, for a lazy rainy day, or to kill some time on your lunch hour.
